*We switched Johnson and Layman to have a male by the Boys' restroom. That happened after the schedules were run, so the room numbers on the schedules were incorrect.
Enrichments will be a 4-way rotation between P.E., Technology, French, and Little Kids Rock (LKR). This means that every student will have at least one day of each enrichment each week. Because there are 4 enrichments, each student will have one of the enrichments twice each week. The enrichment taken twice in a week will rotate each week. All enrichments will be introductions to the course, so every student should be able to be successful. There will be no homework for enrichments except on special occasions. There will be multiple opportunities for 5th grade students to work with our robotics program, but it will not be a regular elective. All enrichments are meant to prepare the students for the electives we offer beginning in 6th grade.
*We are waiting for the Parish to assign a LKR teacher to our school.
If parents are dropping off students in both 5th and middle school grades, those students may be dropped off as early as 7:00 a.m. in the teachers’ parking lot. The teachers’ parking lot is the large parking lot adjacent Old Mooringsport Rd in the front of the school. The 5th students will be directed to the library where they will be supervised by an adult. The middle school students will be directed to the appropriate area (Student Center or Auditorium).
If parents are only dropping off 5th graders, we ask that they be dropped off beginning at 7:25 a.m. At this point, they will be directed to the auditorium where they will be under constant adult supervision. If they eat breakfast at school, they will go to the cafeteria before the auditorium.
In the afternoon, 5th grade students are released at 2:51 p.m. We are asking that 5th grade parents arrive between 2:40 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. If there are students still waiting to be picked up at 3:15 p.m., we will escort them to the air conditioned office to contact and/or wait on their rides.
